Xmas adopters for camels!

Great Christmas tidings – our camels have adopters!

dzg_xmas_camelsBactrian male Charles and female Jimandi had the festive hump last week when Marketing staff let slip that they had the least adopters across the 1,300-strong animal collection.

But following our web news story, and thanks to the power of Facebook and Twitter, they are now the very proud adoptees of three big-hearted families around the country who adopted the pair as Christmas gifts.

The camel adoptions were among hundreds of festive gifts to be mailed out from DZG in the past few weeks.

Marketing Manager, Julia Lockett, said: “We have been mega busy since the beginning of the month and right up to last Wednesday’s deadline were taking tens of orders over the phone and website every day.

“Our most popuar adoptions this year have been for tigers, particularly our newly-arrived Sumatran male, Joao, but penguins are near the top of the list as are snow leopards and the great apes.”
