World Tapir Day

We’ll be taking time out to mark World Tapir Day – and where better than surrounded by our four Brazilian tapirs in their South American paddock.

tallulah8Mum Meena, Dad, Chico, big bruv Ronnie and one-year-old Tallulah are part of DZG’s international conservation programme for these endangered creatures and are one of our most popular species on site.

Come and say hello to the family group if you visit DZG today – rumour has it they’re in for extra tickles from their keepers!

CAPTION: Senior Keeper Laura Robbins ups the tickle quota with Brazilian tapir, Tallulah.

If YOU would like to tickle a tapir, why not  book a Close Encounter via our Supporters’ Centre and boost conservation for a range of endangered species.
