West Midlands Wildlife Champions

Ahead of the Festival of Change, we asked our supporters to nominate a Wildlife Champion.

The initiative invited people across the West Midlands to nominate individuals who go above and beyond for wildlife in their local communities. From litter picking and maintaining wildlife-friendly gardens, to volunteering, fundraising or running nature-inspired activities, we wanted to recognise people making a difference — no matter how big or small their efforts.

Fifty nominated Wildlife Champions received four free tickets to attend the Festival of Change event in June, made possible thanks to funding from the Richardson Brothers Foundation. The top 10 champions were also featured in a special exhibition across the zoo throughout the summer.

Nominations were open to anyone aged seven and over and closed on 30 April.
