We’re SO noisy!

Who are the noisiest animals at DZG?

We think our pair of Lar gibbons, Huggy and Meo, pictured above with baby Penny, are top contenders for the title – they’d certainly win a gold medal for their acoustics!

The endangered Lar gibbon, which not only moves further, faster and quicker than any other primate, is also famous for its loud whooping sound, especially when a mated pair duet together – which can normally be heard most mid-mornings or afternoons.

Their ear piercing call can get so loud that it can be heard up to half a mile away – so listen out!
