Our newly-arrived tigers, 18-month-old Amur, Tschuna, and 17-month-old Sumatran, Daseep, got down to some serious playtime yesterday in their internal enclosure – just hours before they prepare to meet DZG visitors.
The girls, who transferred on Wednesday from Wuppertal Zoo, in Germany, have settled well and enjoy spending time in each other’s company rather than staying in their individual dens.
Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: “They love to play together and don’t like to be apart for very long. They are quite mischevious and like it when the keepers call in.
“They are eating well and staff are very happy with the ease of the move.”
