Dudley Zoo staff are delighted after two roads leading to the award-winning attraction have been named in our honour.
The roads off Tipton Road have been called Discovery Way and Zoological Drive.
The names for the adopted roads have just been approved by Dudley Councils highways department and the street signs are due to go up shortly.
Discovery Way leads off Tipton Road to the main access island, near the overflow car park to the Black Country Living Museum, and is an apt description of the approach to Dudley’s tourism quarter.
Zoological Drive is the road running parallel with our car park which brings motorists into our 40-acre zoo.
DZG Zoo Director Derek Grove said: We are delighted with the new names for the roads.
They reflect the nature of our business and give road users an introduction and a warm welcome to our site.
Zoo bosses have been involved in the street naming process for several months after being asked for input by Dudley Council. The council’s road plan identifying the new road names is shown below.
