Tschuna says goodbye . . .

There were tears yesterday as staff said goodbye to our gorgeous Amur tigress, Tschuna.

The playful cub who arrived in February 2012 is now a beautiful young female setting out on a vital conservation journey.

Three-year-old Tschuna has moved to Yorkshire Wildlife Park where she joins handsome hunk, Vladimir, as part of an international breeding project for this endangered species.

Good luck Tschuna, you’ll be much missed by all at DZG!

. . .and a big thanks to Tal Chohan for the image of his favourite girl – just sooo suitable for the occasion!

Tschuna was transferred from the Tecton enclosure via crane before keepers carried her to the transporter . . . and a final goodbye from Assistant Curator, Richard Brown.
