Wildlife artist, John Halbert, is hoping this striking image of DZG’s Amur tiger, Tschuna, will woo visitors at July’s Great Yorkshire Show.
John, who is based in North Yorkshire, captured our 20-month-old female during a recent visit to DZG.
He said: “I visited DZG to try to obtain images of your snow leopards in the hope it would be the basis for a painting.
“I had been unaware that you had recently acquired two young tigers and was completely blown away by them.
“The enclosure is very viewer friendly and the locals I spoke with were understandably very proud of their zoo.”
He added: “I was inspired to try and capture Tschuna on canvas in a natural setting, and will be showing this painting at the Great Yorkshire Show in July but I thought you might like to see it.”
Good luck with the show in July, John, we’ll all be wishing you well!
