Tropical birds’ winter home

Two tropical birds have flown their outdoor nests for cosy internal aviaries.

Bird keepers have relocated a roul roul partridge and toucan into off-show heated aviaries until springtime.

Keeper Luke Millar, said: “The birds are both native to a humid, tropical rainforest habitat so neither are very winter hardy.

“They are both currently enjoying heated enclosures and will return to their public outside enclosure around springtime.”
