Two DZG staff members zoomed in on their camera skills at a photography course in Birmingham.
Our in-house graphic designer Rachel Lane and Senior Primate Keeper Jodie Dryden attended the half-day course at Wex Photographic to help them get the most out of DZG’s new camera.
And the results were stunning!
Rachel and Jodie, who both take pictures for the zoo’s website and marketing material, attended the macro-photography workshop where they put a crested gecko and a praying mantis into focus.
Rachel said: “It was a very useful tutorial and the fact the subject matter was close camera work with animals was ideal for us.
“Jodie and I both felt we learned a great deal and are looking forward to putting this into practice.”
The course was taken by David Southard from Wild Arena Ltd who is a former zookeeper at Knowsley Safari Park and a photographer.
