Hundreds of little stars turned out for the Barnardos Big Toddle at Dudley Zoological Gardens today.
Cameron Abraham (4) from West Bromwich, Riley Millington (4) from West Bromwich and Katie Jones (3) from Tividale meet Barnardo’s mascot Tod, DZG Presenter Pam Midwood and blue and gold macaw Charlie.
The under-fives had a blast as they took part in the UKs biggest charity fundraiser for toddlers, by completing a short sponsored walk around the zoo site and 11th century Dudley Castle.
Amelia Kenndy (3) from Rowley and Elexis Attwood (2) from Tipton show off their medals after completing the toddle, while Jamie Tether (2) receives his medal from DZG Marketing Assistant, Andrea Hales.
The event, which has a space theme will also take place tomorrow (Thursday) and next Tuesday (June 17) with participants dressed as aliens and astronauts.
DZG Marketing Assistant, Andrea Hales and mascot Jambi congratulate Grace Hill (4) from Kingswinford on completing the toddle, while Amanda Beddow, teddy, and Jessica Hadley (22 months) from Bewdley near the finish line.
Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: The toddle has got off to a brilliant start and were looking forward to welcoming lots more playgroups, nurseries and families over the next week.
Money raised from the toddle helps support disadvantaged and vulnerable children throughout the UK by providing opportunities and practical support to enable them the best start in life.
