Toad trio back on display

Three bony headed toads are now back on display in the Discovery Centre after spending a month off-show while carpenters made alterations to their accommodation.

Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: “They are odd-looking amphibians, but are very popular with visitors to the Discovery Centre and have been much missed during their off show period; it’s good to see them back.”

The toads are native to Cambodia, Vietnam, Lao and China, where they live in streams.

The species, which has Least Concern status on the Red Data list, is affected by habitat destruction.
