Thousands of visitors celebrated St George’s Day at DZG as we hosted the borough’s official celebrations.
Joining forces with Dudley Council we held the patriotic extravaganza in the courtyard of 11th century Dudley Castle, complete with dragons, medieval re-enactors, Dippy the clown, stilt walkers, crafts, face painting, ghost walks and animal meet, greets and feeds.
Zoo Director Derek Grove, said: “It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to welcome more than 2,500 borough residents who snapped up £2.50 tickets for the four-hour event.
“There was a wonderful atmosphere, the sun shone and the day was a great success.”
Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Mohammed Hanif, said: “For the second year running we have teamed up with Dudley Zoo, which has done a great job of making the celebrations for St George’s Day really enjoyable for families.
“Thank you to all of the staff and participants who contributed to creating a fantastic atmosphere at the event.”
