Mega thanks to BBC1’s The One Show team for last night’s amazing coverage of the big freeze at DZG.
Presenter Mike Dilger joined our keepers on a mission to feed 1300 mouths using sledges to transport foodstuffs across the 40-acre site and went behind the scenes to show just what happens when heavy snowfalls hit the Midlands’ favourite zoo.
Mike helped Dudley Zoo Crew break the ice on the Patagonian sealions’ moat pools, prepared a fishy lunch for our rare Humboldt penguins and gave baby orang utan, Sprout, a warming drink.
