Sprout’s all smiles as she’s heard about a kind hearted youngster, who has raised £132 towards our outdoor orangutan enclosure.
Seven-year-old Harriet Pemberton, one of our young zoo members, walked 100k over 17 days to raise the funds for our appeal, walking to and from school, completing laps of her school playgrounds, as well as walking after school and during the weekend.
Her proud mum, Nichola, said: “Harriet’s currently a member of 3rd Bloxwich Brownies, and is working towards her charities and speaking out interest badges so wanted to raise some funds for the zoo as she loves it. The orangutans are one of her favourite animals, Sprout especially.”
The money has been put towards the ongoing development of the new enclosure, which is really taking shape now. We aim to have it complete by Easter.
A HUGE THANK YOU, Harriet, your support is much appreciated!
