Temporary diversion

Please be advised that until mid-November, pedestrian access will be temporarily unavailable across the DZC staff car park from Castle Hill, while building work takes place.

Visitors wanting to get to the zoo entrance from Castle Hill (or access the public footpath by Peggy’s Meadow) will not be able to cross in front of the main zoo office (the white building) but will need to follow a diversion pathway around the adjacent construction site, with signage posted further down the hill to direct the way.

At weekends and during half term, the zoo’s turnstile entrance will be open for direct admission off Castle Hill.
