A budding zoologist got a real taste of zoo life when she became a keeper for the day.
Megan Todd, from Grimsby, is now more determined than ever to follow her dreams of working with primates after encountering DZG’s orang utans, chimps, lemurs and monkeys.
The Be a Keeper experience was a birthday gift for the 17-year-old and exceeded all her original expectations, so much so she can’t wait to come back and do it all over again!
Megan, who is hoping to study zoology at university, said: “All the keepers were fantastic and answered all my questions.
“My favourite part was definitely meeting the lemurs and orang utans, as I really want to specialise in primates and their conservation.
“Thank you to all the keepers for giving me such a fantastic day.”
