Tall order for newlyweds!

Staff faced a tall order yesterday afternoon when Walsall newlyweds, Anna and Phil Wood, called in to DZG for a bespoke giraffe feed straight from church!

Twenty-five-year-old residential social worker, Anna, and Phil, 26, who works as an operator and setter at a Black Country engineering company, headed for the giraffe paddock directly after tying the knot at All Saints’ Church, in Bloxwich, at 1pm.   DZG holds special memories for the Woods – they met on site when Anna was part of the zoo’s Outreach team and Phil worked in the Queen Mary Restaurant.   Anna, who remains part of the zoo’s team of seasonal staff, said she couldn’t wait for the giraffe feed.   She said:?”I was so excited about the whole day, but the giraffe feed made our wedding mega perfect.   “I love giraffes and was over the moon when DZG said they would put on a special feed just for us.”   js_giraffe_bride_10_web   Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said:?”Anna and Phil had the best time feeding our Rothschild’s giraffes straight after their wedding.   “Anna has always loved giraffes and we knew it was a dream for her to feed one so we made sure the browse platform was fit for a bridal gown and ensured that dream came true on her and Phil’s wedding day.”   She added: “We wish them all the best in their new life together and we’ve given them a special giraffe adoption as a wedding gift from staff at DZG so they’ve got a very good reason for another visit after their honeymoon.”   js_giraffe_bride_10_web
