Cuddling tapirs and talking to tigers was all in a day’s work for a Halifax couple when they turned DZG Keepers for the Day.
Peter Bond and Julia Holden, pictured above, had a terrific time when they helped keepers feed and care for creatures in our bird, ungulates and primates sections.
Peter said:”I’ve always been fascinated with wildlife and conservation so this was a wonderful birthday present from Julia.
“During the day we were talking to tigers, feeding penguins and cuddling tapirs, so we had a terrific time.”
Peter, pictured above with the ring-tailed lemurs, added: “I didn’t think we’d get so close to the animals and the keepers were very well informed.”
