Kubwa clothing!

Birthday girl Ruby Holloway definitely dressed the part when she came to DZG to feed her adopted giraffe, Kubwa. The eight-year-old Huntingtree Primary School pupil from Halesowen wore a black hoodie with ‘Kubwa’ printed on the sleeve and a pink t-shirt with his photo on. Birthday boy is kept bizzy!

Birthday boy, Kito, has been having a ball with new enrichment, following a £100 donation from a DZG supporter. And each giraffe has a different coloured target Continue reading Giraffes put through paces

Eight today!

We’re wishing a very happy eighth birthday to Josie the giraffe. Our long-legged lovely was delivered a delicious bouquet from keeper Holly Clayton-Wright, first thing this morning consisting of her some of her favourite foliage! Staff make sure Josie, Kubwa and Kito are still able to tuck into leafy treats throughout autumn and winter by storing branches Continue reading Eight today!

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List has regraded the giraffe as vulnerable following a devastating 40 per cent decline in numbers over the last 30 years, driven by habitat loss, civil Continue reading Giraffes in the spotlight
