Harriet’s hand-picked gifts

A four-year-old girl from Walsall has picked, wrapped and delivered Christmas presents for her two favourite animals at the zoo. Harriet Beech, who has visited DZG since she was three months old with her mum Nichola Pemberton and dad Nicholas Beech, has just brought in the parcels for our youngest Bornean orang Sprout and Carpathian Continue reading Harriet’s hand-picked gifts

Artist aiding orangs

A generous artist is creating limited edition canvasses of DZG’s four orangs to raise funds for our £800,000 outdoor enclosure appeal. And we’re pretty sure orang fans will go ape for the exclusive artwork being donated by David Skidmore, which will be a graphite pencil-drawn montage of Benji, Jorong, Jazz and Sprout. David, from Bromsgrove, Continue reading Artist aiding orangs

Successful sheet appeal!

THANK YOU to everyone who has donated sheets, towels and duvet covers for our primates – but we’ve got enough for now! We’ve been inundated with bags of linen from generous supporters since we appealed for help in providing our chimpanzees and orangutans with enrichment. Lower Primates Senior Keeper, Jodie Dryden, said: “Thank you to everyone Continue reading Successful sheet appeal!

Benji's 40!
