Such an opportunity!

Worcester animal fan Helen Bacon said being a DZG Keeper for a Day was a wonderfully memorable birthday present.

Helen, pictured left with a posing pair of our black and white ruffed lemurs, said: “You get to a certain age and you don’t want things to put in a cupboard, you want experiences.

“Being a keeper at Dudley Zoo was an amazing experience and such an opportunity.”

“To get up close and personal to snow leopards and tigers was incredible and I felt so grateful to be able to stroke them.”

Helen also loved feeding our Humboldt penguins and spoke very highly of our enthusiastic keepers.

She said: “The zoo keepers were so knowledgeable about their own sections and I came away having learned such a lot.”

Helen was treated to the experience as a birthday gift from her husband Andy, who came along to see her in action and captured the moment on camera.
