Muddy pawed otters are keeping their keepers busy.
Every day staff spend hours cleaning the dozen or so windows at their enclosure ?only for ten Asiatic short-clawed otters to put their mucky little paws all over the panes.
Keeper Jay Hawood said:?”The otters are very mischievous and make so much mess of the windows that they need a complete clean every day.
“It is a bit of a running battle. Otters are very inquisitive and playful and pick up objects such as small stones and play with them, rolling them up and down the glass.
“They get excited when anything is going on, and the babies copy the adults, so the result is lots of windows to clean over and over.”
