We’re looking forward to welcoming back the 4,626 visitors who benefitted from DZG’s free return promotion.
We handed out return tickets to all full-paying admissions who came on site during the first two months of the year, allowing them to come back and visit us for free up until July 31.
Zoo Director Derek Grove said: “Every season brings something new to DZG and visitors get a different experience throughout the year.
“We’re pleased to see so many people take advantage of the offer and we hope they enjoy their visit on us later in the year as we continue our 80th anniversary celebrations.”
And there’ll be plenty of changes to see as we’ve started work on our £295,000 redevelopment project to modernise a number of animal enclosures across the site.
Work is currently progressing on the £20,000 revamp of the capuchin enclosure as well as a £25,000 extension to the Carpathian lynx exhibit.
Meanwhile planning applications for the £90,000 farm revamp and £100,000 snow leopard enclosure have been submitted to the local authority and subject to approval, we hope to begin work imminently.
To redeem the free return offer, which isn’t valid on bank holidays, visitors will need their original receipt from the January / February visit and the voucher.
