A rising country singer from Nashville, Tennessee, discovered DZG’s vast history as part of a whirlwind tour of the Black Country.
Stacia Watkins joined Black Country Radio’s Breakfast Show Presenter, Monica Price – pictured right – for a tour of the 40-acre site where she met Madagascan lemurs and fed our Rothschild’s giraffe, Kubwa.
The singer, who was visiting the UK as part of a promotional tour for her first EP I Ain’t The Middle Of The Road’ also explored the 11th century castle in the heart of the zoological gardens and took a ride on our vintage chairlift.
DZG Media and Communications Officer, Rachel Hickman, said: “It was great to welcome Stacia and the Black Country Radio team to DZG and show them some of the wonderful unique aspects that makes us so special.
“Stacia was particularly taken with the medieval castle although she said getting up close to our Lemur Wood boys was the highlight of her entire trip!”
