St George’s flag’s flying!

England’s national flag is flying atop Dudley Castle as DZG celebrates St George’s Day.

Our maintenance team have hoisted the red and white flag in preparation for today’s patriotic event, when thousands of visitors will be joining us onsite from 3pm until 7pm to celebrate our patron saint, having snapped up bargain £2.50 entry tickets.

Zoo Director, Derek Grove, said: “We’ve joined forces with Dudley Council for the second year running to host the borough’s St George’s Day festivities and we have lots of entertainment for all the family to enjoy, so it promises to be a great day out.”

The extravaganza, which is taking place in the castle courtyard will include medieval re-enactors, dragons, children’s entertainers, crafts and stilt walkers, plus visitors can also watch our Humboldt penguins and Patagonian sealions receiving their supper during additional talks.

Happy St George’s Day from DZG!
