Sprout can snuggle down to sleep in style thanks to a generous donation from a Droitwich company.
Wood Wool UK has donated £500 worth of wood wool an eco-friendly and biodegradable soft bedding to DZG’s Bornean orang utan family.
DZG Curator, Matt Lewis, said the bedding which, unlike straw, is free from dust, is ideal for two year-old Sprout and mum, Jazz, because it stops the spread of disease and infestation.
He said: “Wood Wool UK have been supplying DZG for many years and we would like to thank them for this donation.
“Sprout loves nothing more than snuggling down in her bedding, and covering herself with it, and she was very happy when she discovered the Wood Wool gift.”
Wood Wool UK proprietor, John Pardoe, said: “We like to help out as many zoos as we can, as we like to do our bit for conservation and help endangered primates.”
The company’s wood wool has many varied uses and is more frequently found as the packaging in Fortnum and Mason and Harvey Nichols’ luxury food hampers.
