Discover all about some of the nosiest primates on site with our new half term talks.
Our Presenters will be introducing visitors to our howler monkey family and lar gibbon gang for the two additional daily talks running throughout the school holidays.
Learn how howler monkeys are so called because of their amazing howling call, which amplifies due to a special voice box during the talk at their new enclosure in the triple Tecton at 1.15pm.
And if you’re lucky you may hear the gibbons’ distinctive musical ‘whoop’ call, which can be heard up to half a mile away during their talk at 2.30pm at their enclosure next to the sealion pool.
The two primate events form a packed daily programme of talk and feeds during the school holidays.
Kicking off each day at 11.30am there’s a Go Wild! Show in the Go Wild! Theatre.
See our four Patagonian sealions enjoying their fishy lunch at 12.15pm, while our otters receive theirs at 12.30pm.
At 12.45pm hear all about our giraffe trio, while Sumatran tigers, Daseep and Joao are in the spotlight at 1pm.
The focus will turn to our meerkats at 2.15pm, while our sealions receive more food at 2.45pm.
And meet our chimpanzees at 3.15pm when a keeper introduces our girls at the bottom of the zoo site.
Then why not finish your day with a ghost walk around the 11th century castle courtyard at 3.30pm.
That’s all in addition to the opportunity to meet the farm animals between 12 – 12.45pm and 2.15pm – 3.30pm every day.
If you’re visiting this week, make sure you pick up a What’s On guide from the entrance!
