There was frosty fun afoot when keepers built a snowman for our seven female chimpanzees.
Lower Primates trainee keepers Jade Reddall and Shaun Crompton watched in amusement as the girls explored the cold creation in their one-acre paddock.
Shaun said: “Our oldest chimp, 40-year-old Fanny, was first to head for the snowman and quickly swiped one of its hot potato eyes.
`’Then Mandy, aged 38, and her daughter Mali, aged 21, grabbed the other potato eye, the carrot nose and the primate pellet mouth before Mali knocked off the snowman’s head and carried it into the indoor enclosure to share with the rest of the girls.”
Shaun added: “It was so funny to watch.”
