Visitors can show their support for DZG’s orangutans by purchasing one of our colourful appeal wristbands or pin badges.
Every penny from the £2 silicone band or £3 enamel badge, will go towards our campaign to raise £800,000 for a new outdoor enclosure for our Bornean orangs.
Zoo Director Derek Grove, said: “Make a pledge to go ape for our appeal and show your support by purchasing our bright fundraising merchandise.
“This is one of our most ambitious appeals to date and we’re aiming to start work within three years, but we do need help to achieve that final amount and every penny will really make a difference.”
The wristbands and pin badges are available for sale in the Safari Shop and on our outreach stand at various upcoming events.
We launched the appeal earlier this year and kickstarted the fundraising by pledging £165,723 raised from Keeper for a Day and Close Encounters over the last 16 months, plus all the funds from the recent Walk on the Wild Side will be added too.
As part of the plans we’re aiming to relocate the wild dogs to incorporate their paddock into the new orang complex.
