With many schools breaking up for Easter today, it’s an egg-cellent time to play at DZG!
We’ve had impressive new play equipment installed at two of our play areas, just in time for the holidays.
And first to try it out was seven-year-old Rebecca Bailey from Bath, whose school holiday started even earlier.
The new play equipment, on the playground by the camels and the lawn by the Queen Mary Restaurant, was made by Creative Play who also provided the equipment for the play area opposite the Safari Shop.
Zoo Director Derek Grove said: “Updating our play equipment improves the experience for our visitors and it’s great to have it ready for Easter.
“It gives regular young visitors something new to explore and they can burn off that extra energy before moving on to see more of our animals.”
Down on the Farm we have new animals in time for the Easter break too, with chicks expected any day and new rabbits in our contact paddock.
The Farm is also the focus for many of our holiday activities where youngsters can take part in an egg hunt, get colouring and meet our Farm mascot Bertie Bunny, who will be handing out chocolate eggs over the weekend.
And each day we’ll have extra talks and feeds, two Go Wild! Shows, chance to meet the animals on the Farm and in the Discovery Centre and a ghost and history walk.
Our vintage chairlift is back in action after its annual maintenance as well to make getting from the lower site to the upper section and the 11th century Dudley Castle a little more unique.
Hope you can join us this Easter – it’ll be cracking!
