A family of German thrill seekers stopped off at DZG for a whistle-stop ride on the fun fair’s Kiddie Coaster.
Thomas, Tina and five year-old Anna Köhlert, visited the zoo’s Thomas Jones run fun fair as part of an 11-day rollercoaster tour of the UK, during which they visited 21 amusement parks and rode 34 different coasters.
Now back home, Thomas said: “The tour was a big success and many thanks for all the effort from Dudley Zoo.
“We have been roller coaster enthusiasts since 2005 and every year we plan a coaster holiday.
“Our source of information is the rollercoaster database, where you can find every coaster on the planet.”
To date Tina has ridden more coasters at 1,341, Thomas has clocked up 1,340 and Anna has ridden 195, in eight countries and on three continents and the family are now planning their next adventure to Japan.
Zoo Manager Matt Lewis, said: “This was one of our more unusual requests, but we were more than happy to oblige and welcome the Köhlert family on site to ride our Kiddie Coaster, which enabled them to tick it off their list, before they dashed off to the next one.
“We’re glad to hear their coaster touring holiday was such a success.”
