A group of Russells Hall Hospital radiographers delivered breakfast for some of DZG’s animals during a Wake Up the Zoo experience.
The group booked a bespoke behind-the-scenes tour which saw keepers began their daily duties cleaning and prepping breakfast for the animals.
Led by Presenter Langan Turner, the group, which consisted of radiographers and their family members, tickled the tapirs in the South American paddock, fed 60 plus eager Humboldt penguins and the meerkat mob before finishing up with breakfast in Oak Kitchen at the Queen Mary Restaurant.
Langan said: “It was a great group to welcome to DZG and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
“And quite a few of them fell in love with Elliot, one of the handreared penguins, who took quite a liking to the group and was very persistent when asking for his breakfast!”
The radiographers booked up after organiser, Jane Eade, attended a previous DZG Wake up the Zoo tour.
Jane said: “We really enjoyed getting up close and personal with some of the lovely animals at Dudley Zoo.”
