Putting the planet first
It’s Global Recycling Day and we’re thrilled you’re helping us put the planet first by using our new bins.
The colour-coded recycling centres were installed across the 40-acre site last summer encouraging visitors to recycle plastic bottles and aluminium cans and they’ve proved to be a huge success.
Conservation Officer Chris Leeson, said: “We’re really pleased visitors have joined us on our mission to become even greener and it’s great to see our stations being filled correctly, which is allowing us to send off even more for recycling.”
As well as recycling cardboard, paper, cans, plastic bottles and printer toner, we also send off our animal waste to be composted down into fertiliser and even the cooking oil used in the Queen Mary restaurant is reused to create biofuels for vehicles.
