Our colony of Humboldt penguins is the largest parent-reared group in the UK.
And with more than 70 of the flightless birds inhabiting Penguin Bay keepers have a hard time when it comes to the daily head count!
Back in 1991 we started off with just five hand-reared chicks, a number that has grown steadily over the past 22 years, and today our award-winning conservation programme has also been recognised by BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums), for sustained breeding of a captive species.
Learn more about Humboldts during our 3pm talk and feed today at Penguin Bay.
