Upper Primates Section Leader, Pat Stevens is showcasing her rockwork skills ready for a new arrival in the Reptile House.
Keepers have taken delivery of a new male Jamaican Boa, who is currently undergoing a 30-day quarantine period in the house’s adjacent quarantine bay.
Reptile keepers are now busy preparing his new enclosure, in which Pat’s built a rockwork waterfall to provide a running water feature for the new snake.
Pat, pictured above, said: “The boa’s enclosure is the latest to be refurbished in the Reptile House. Once we’ve got the waterfall right, we’ll plant it all up and add a new glass-viewing panel and get the environment just right so it’s ready to introduce the snake.”
