Our primate keepers are tickled PINK to discover our newest gelada baby is a GIRL!!!
The youngster, who was born on December 19, is only our second female out of eight juveniles and has been named Panya, an African name meaning crowned one.
Lower Primates Keeper Jade Reddall, said: “We thought the name Panya was very apt, as she’s our little princess!
“We’re really happy mum Tana has blessed us with another girl, as she’s also the mum to our other girl, Kadida, who turns two later this month.
“Both mum and baby are doing really well and Panya already seems very confident and is starting to explore her surroundings, although mum isn’t letting her stray too far and is keeping a close hold of her tail!”
