Elderly babirusa, Nick loves a quick wallow in mud when the sun’s shining.
And keepers make sure the 17-year-old Balinese wild pig’s mud pit is just the right consistency when the mercury rises.
Ungulates Keeper, Jo Turner, said: “We dug the wallow over and added a few buckets of water to it, as he loves cooling down in it when it’s hot. It’s also a brilliant sun protection for him as the mud covers his skin but also conditions it, too, when it dries out.”
