Narna, our Egyptian fruit bat is certainly making sure she’s getting her five-a-day this New Year – just look how much fruit she’s trying to munch on in one go!
Keepers snapped the cheeky three-year-old with her feet full of strawberry and her mouth bulging with red grapes!
Egyptian fruit bats can eat their own weight in fresh fruit each night and will actively avoid fermenting food.
Narna is named after her favourite fruit and is our special bat, as she won’t fly!
Our mixed bat exhibit, which also includes Seba’s short-tailed bats, can be found in Castle Creatures.
