It’s all change for DZG’s pygmy marmosets, as primate keepers begin the task of establishing a new breeding group.
All six females have relocated to new animal collections; one to Belfast Zoo, five to Banham Zoo.
Head of Upper Primates, Pat Stevens, said: “Following the girls’ departure we are hoping to bring in an unrelated female to pair with a suitable male from our current bachelor group.
“We’ve done quite well breeding pygmy marmosets in the past, so fingers crossed we can carry on with the same success.”
