DZG spread a little Christmas magic this morning for a poorly toddler from Shropshire.
Two-year-old Holly McCrossan, of Highley, near Bridgnorth, suffers from a rare condition that affects brain development. The tiny tot, who also has tumours on her brain and spine, is currently undergoing treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital, in London. Today her parents, Jon and Donna and three-year-old brother, Callum, called in to Santa’s Grotto after CEO Peter Suddock arranged a bespoke meet and greet. He said: “Holly is a very lovely little girl and is having fairly intensive treatment at Great Ormond Street hospital, so we arranged for her to meet Santa during a quiet time. “The London treatment requires regular transport to and from the hospital which means a lot of juggling within the family, so we just wanted to give them a special time together.” Donna said: “Holly came out of Great Ormand Street Hospital yesterday (Dec 22), so we’re looking forward to spending a family Christmas at home together. “The children loved exploring the grotto and telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas before seeing some of the zoo’s animals and we’d just like to say a big thank you to DZG for organising such a lovely time.”
