Two animal mad sisters from Derby had a grrreat day out at DZG when they became Little Zoo Keepers.
Emma and Grace Maxwell took part in the joint experience after their parents booked it up as part of Emma’s ninth birthday celebrations.
The pair worked alongside staff to help muck out the animals down on the farm, before working their way around site to meet and feed some of the smaller animals, as well as meeting the tapirs and feeding the penguins.
Emma, pictured above, said: “I love animals and want to be a vet, so I loved my day at Dudley Zoo.
“Feeding the tapirs and penguins was great, but I also really loved learning all about the animals and what it takes to keep them healthy.
“Thank you to everyone for a brilliant day and I’ll definitely be coming back with my family.”
Younger sister, Grace, pictured left, added: “I really enjoyed the experience and learnt a lot, including how the blue tongued lizard uses its blue tongue to scare its predators away and I particularly enjoyed feeding the penguins.
“It was the best day ever!”
