Marion’s wish comes true

Netherton grandmother Marion Wilkinson had high hopes when she entered a prize draw to feed DZG’s giraffes.

Marion, of Copse Road, bought a ticket via Age UK Dudley’s Springboard Project and was over the moon when she took top spot to feed our three rare Rothschilds.   dzg-marion

CAPTION: Tall order for Marion and grandson, Oliver, as they feed DZG’s Rothschild giraffes.

Age UK Dudley spokeswoman Fran Cartwright, said: “Marion was so pleased as she fulfilled a lifetime’s ambition to feed an animal at Dudley Zoo!      “The draw was made at our Showtime Lunch at the Copthorne Hotel, Brierley Hill, a charity event which raised £1,000 for Age UK Dudley and we’d like to say a big thank you to all at DZG for their wonderful prize.”   DZG Head of Media and Communications, Jill Hitchman, said: “We were delighted to be part of Age UK Dudley’s Showtime Lunch; many of their members have fond memories of the zoo throughout the years and are now regular visitors with their grandchildren and it was just fantastic that Marion got to do something  that’s been on her wish list for years.”   YOU could feed giraffes, a big cat – we’ve got lions, tigers and snow leopards – or maybe a penguin or cheeky lemur!
