An animal lover from Nottinghamshire enjoyed one of his best ever experiences at DZG when he became a keeper for the day.
Malcolm Fuller, from Newark, worked with staff on primates, big cats, ungulates and birds after he was treated to the experience by his wife and discovered how unique a place DZG really is!
Malcolm, aged 62, said: “My wife and I buy experience days for each other for birthday and Christmas, but my day at DZG was up there as being one of the best.
“The staff that I met were fantastic, so knowledgeable, attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble, but they all had a very professional approach to the job in hand.
“Hand on heart I cannot say what was my best experience, but areas where I felt that I was not so interested in I really enjoyed and this was only due mainly to the enthusiasm and knowledge from the staff.
“Prior to my visit I didn’t know DZG was a charity, and I appreciate the amount of work that it must take to maintain and run the site.
“I have visited a number of zoos and have enjoyed the days out at them but Dudley is so different, it really is a lovely place and I look forward to our next visit.”
