Lovely letters

Presenter Heather John was excited to receive a pile of lovely letters from Oldbury pupils who became African explorers at DZG.

Year Two children from St Francis Xavier Primary School wrote thank you letters to Heather saying how much they had enjoyed the African Explorers workshop she gave as part of their visit.

During the workshop the youngsters met Eccles, a tenrec, and learned all about animals from the continent of Africa.

They also got to see a huge hippo skull and fed our collection of meerkats.

Heather said: “They were a lovely group of children and their teacher Mr Mills set them a challenge to write a thank you letter to the zoo, saying he would send us the best one.

“But he told me the letters were all so good that he decided to post them all, which was lovely. I was very impressed with how much the pupils remembered from the day and meeting Eccles was one of their highlights.”

Thanks for the thank you letters everyone!
