Lemurs lend a hand

The boys in Lemur Wood couldn’t resist volunteering their services when keepers decided to cut back greenery in the one-acre walkthrough exhibit.

Upper Primates Section Leader, Pat Stevens, said: “We decided to cut all the plants right back to allow for spring’s new growth.

“It’s an arduous job, which we’re fitting in around our daily duties, but no task is ever straight forward with 30 free-roaming lemurs as some want to join in and help out, while you have to keep watch that another isn’t legging it with your loppers.”
