Kriss is a high flyer
Congratulations to our high-flying bird keeper Kriss Pearson who has been recognised for his fundraising efforts and presentation skills.
The 25-year-old, who regularly presents the birds of prey display in the Castle Courtyard, has been named Employee of the Month after being put forward for the honour by zoo managers, a visitor and an official mystery shopper.
Zoo Manager Matt Lewis said: “We had some excellent feedback on the way Kriss presented the flying display in a fun and dynamic way.
“He also made an impression on a visitor who was spending the day with us as a keeper and a mystery shopper, so the title is well deserved.”
Along with his bird-keeping colleagues, Kriss was also praised for the Parrots of the Caribbean event on World Parrot Day when the team dressed as pirates and ran pirate games in aid of the World Parrot Trust.
Kriss, who has been at DZG for eight years, received gift vouchers and a certificate. He said: “This was totally unexpected but it’s great to know people have enjoyed our bird of prey displays and commented on how I do the job I love.”
And well done as well to receptionist Nicky Reynolds and Customer Services Team Member Lauren Westwood who received certificates and gift vouchers for notable achievement this month.
