Kind-hearted keepers purchased a new toy for a young visitor who accidentally lost his favourite car in the sealion pool.
The toy was dropped in the girls’ moat pool and ended up in the deep end where keepers couldn’t reach to fish it out.
After draining the pool for its weekly clean a few days later, keepers were able to get to the mini metal London red bus but discovered it was water damaged, so the section staff bought the Dudley youngster a new one, which they popped in the post for him.
Keeper Adam Wrench, pictured right, said: “After hearing how it was his favourite toy, we decided to try and get him a new one as we weren’t able to get it out straight away for him.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t find the exact same one, but we tried to match it as closely as possible and hope he enjoys playing with it.”
