Not even the wet weather could dampen the spirits of an animal-mad brother and sister as they took part in a Keeper for a Day experience here at DZG.
Linzi Crellin was treated to the unique gift for her 21st birthday by her sister, Michelle and brother, Daniel, who joined her in meeting some of the world’s rarest animals on site.
Linzi, from Kettering, said: “We had a brilliant day, the keepers were really helpful and we were amazed by how close the encounters were with the animals.
“Daniel’s favourite bit was the orang utans and he loved meeting baby Sprout and her mum and feeding them juice.
“I enjoyed hand feeding the tigers, however I am a penguin lover, so being in the enclosure feeding lots of penguins was really cool.”
The day was a great eye-opener for Linzi, who is also hoping to volunteer for animal sanctuaries out in South Africa in the future and she has already recommended the experience to her family and friends!
