Ever wondered what happens when Dudley Zoo closes for the day as keepers settle our animals down for the night?
As the sunset drops behind the walls of the 11th century Dudley Castle on Friday, July 22, we are giving visitors the unique chance to take part in a Twilight Trail around the zoo, which includes a behind the scenes guided tour with opportunities to feed and interact with a variety of exotic species, including our new lorikeets, sealions, penguins and meerkats.
Visitors will be able to hear about DZG’s vital conservation work as they shadow keepers as they undergo the evening lock-up duties, preparing tea for our animals and settling them down for the night.
DZG Marketing Manager, Andrea Hales, said: “Our Wake up the Zoo experience is always popular, but we always get questions asking how animals sleep and what our keepers have to do after hours at night, so this is the ideal opportunity to find out all the answers!”
The tour lasts approximately two hours (starting at 5.45 pm) and concludes with a barbecue in the castle courtyard.
Tickets cost £45 per adult and £35 per child (8-15 years) and can be booked by calling 01384 215313 or CLICKING HERE.
